What’s the new headline about?
Live simply. Explore nature. Make useful things. Grow your own.
It’s taken me a long time to nail down what Lovely Greens is in a headline. How can you define yourself in just one sentence? I’ve gone through quite a few iterations but none felt right so I sat myself down again last week and asked, what is Lovely Greens? In the end it was easy – Lovely Greens is what I do. Live Simply. Explore Nature. Make useful things. Grow your own. It’s funny how difficult simple can be.
Making things is my passion and I create projects for the home, grow flowers and produce in the garden, and keep honeybees. I also make a line of handmade soap, lip balms, and skincare and offer soap making courses.
Through blogging I’ve gotten to know a lot of other people on the same path but why are we on it? I can only speak for myself but I feel sometimes lost in this brave new world of digital living, mass production, global debt, and strain on natural resources. By reducing consumption and living a life closer to nature I feel that I’m creating more connection between my own humanity and the natural world.
Lovely Greens started out as a personal blog and I didn’t really think much of readership when I started it back in 2010. I now have hundreds of thousands of people who visit every month and now it’s more of a personal blog slash DIY guide now.
What can you get from Lovely Greens?
The message I want to convey is that through living simply your life can be less stressful, less expensive, and have less impact on the planet. You can also find so much pleasure and purpose in living more mindfully. A simple salad made with greens you’ve grown yourself. A candle made with sea glass collected from the beach. A new walk in a place you’ve lived for years. Time spent doing the things you want to do.

All the very best ♡
