My One-Year Blogoversary

This post may contain affiliate links for your convenience. Thank you for your continued support of Lovely Greens!

April the fourth will be my official one-year anniversary as a regular blogger. It’s amazing how quickly that time has passed but when I look back over my last year’s posts I realise how much I’ve done. I’ve written on everything from attending the Edible Garden Show and visiting the British Museum to pottery classes, allotment life and making wines, Kahlua, jams, soaps and much more. I would have been doing all of these things anyway but I’m so happy to have been able to share my passions with others and meet some really lovely people online.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to lend support and give advice – your comments make my day and I appreciate each and every visit you make. To show my appreciation I’d like to send a pot of my Manx Beeswax lip balm to my top four visitors. I spent all day yesterday going through my old posts counting comments and have come up with the winners listed below. Thanks ever so much for visiting regularly – even though we’ve not chatted in person I feel as if we are already longtime friends.

There were so many other wonderful people who visited in the last year and I wish I could send each and every one of you something as well. Whether you visited twice or dozens of times I’m happy that you’ve stopped by and that you support Lovely Greens. So what I’m going to do is have a random draw on Friday, April 4th for a fifth pot of lip balm. To be entered, all you need to do is comment below and tell me which of my posts you liked best.

My top four followers for 2011-2012 are:

Jo of The Good Life
Jo lives in Leeds in West Yorkshire with her husband, son, daughter and Archie the dog. She’s a stay at home mum and has many hobbies which include gardening, knitting, crochet and genealogy. The Good Life blog follows her progress on her allotment.

Mo and Steve of A Small Holding
They grow vegetables, fruit and herbs, keep chickens, and raise rare breed pigs. Their interests include self-sufficiency, wildlife, food, cooking, and growing your own.

Pat of The Weaver of Grass
Pat is a farmer’s wife living on the eastern edge of The Yorkshire Dales with her husband and a young border terrier. Her interests include the countryside, poetry, writing, wildflowers, birds, Border Terriers, farming, Yorkshire Dales, gardening, ancient artefacts, and textile art.

Elaine of A Woman of the Soil
Elaine is a dedicated grower of all things beautiful and edible and enjoys benefiting from hard work in the fresh air. Her passions include being involved with the cycle of the seasons with the satisfying process of helping nature create beautiful flowers and nourishing food.

Congratulations to all four of you and please be in touch with me on where you’d like me to send your gift. And please tune in to my blog next Friday to see who has won the last pot of lip balm

Congratulations on your blogoversary, Tanya. I'm thrilled to bits to have won one of your lip balms, thank you very much. I bet that was a job and a half going through all your comments and counting them up.

  7. Well done everyone! I love your blog Tanya, it always looks lovely and is so inspiring. I love how you try so many different things and blog about them with such attention to detail. It's difficult to pick a favourite but I think it would have to be the homemade Kahlua post because I had just been to a lovely cocktail night and my favourite cocktail was the B52. I'm all about saving money and making homemade but would never have thought of trying this. I still haven't had time, but I know the recipe is there and I'm looking forward to having a go this Christmas!

Happy Blogoversary! I'm amazed to be in your top four because for a while I was AWOL from the Blogging World. I do love your Blog though.
I already know and love your Lip Balm and, whilst I shall replenish, it would be nice to take up the offer you made on my Blog.
You are very generous, not just with this giveaway, but with your other knowledge, thank you for both!
And here's to another Blogging Year!

  11. Leigh says:

Tanya, that is an absolutely excellent way to do a giveaway! I may have to borrow that sometime for one of my own blogoversaries. And definitely congratulations on yours! I don't get around often, but I always, always love your posts.

  12. John says:

Happy Blogversary. We enjoy your posts. Always interesting material.

  13. Hi Tanya
Congratulations on your one year Blogoversary. What a lovely idea to give away some of your goods. Naturally I'd love the chance to win the 5th pot but I really wanted to write to say congratulations. Besides, I am just not sure which post I could say would be my fave. The first one that came to my mind was the one of with Mr E and the bees, but then I also loved your recipe on Baileys. I’ve tucked that recipe away to make as a winter treat, but then I always love seeing your cats in the photos…. So, I’m sorry, I can’t choose one post so I just couldn’t qualify :).

  14. Happy First Anniversary Tanya!! Hope you popped a few corks to celebrate! Looking forward to reading many more posts from you.

  15. farmer_liz says:

Congrats on reaching one year! I love reading about what you're doing in a different climate and location. Great idea to count comments 🙂 and thanks for sharing links to some new blogs for me to check out.

  16. Deco Cat says:

Hello, I am a new follower to your blog and I am just enjoying reading about all the plant life where you are.

  17. Hi Tanya…maybe I missed this after a week off the computer?!?! Anyway I don't think there is a particular post I like on your blog but what I love most about it is the range of topics that you cover…to pick a post though I would go with the one about the welsh bunching onions….congrats on your first birthday.
