Planting potatoes for Christmas, growing alpine strawberries from fresh berries, propagating tomatoes, & a hedgehog rescue!

While a lot of people think that autumn is a time to wind down from gardening there are still things that you could be doing. Fun things! Growing Christmas potatoes, propagating tomato plants, planting onion sets, and growing alpine strawberries from fresh berries. I’m working in my autumn garden to prepare for spring.

The intro is a very serious message though and one that I didn’t plan for this video. I found a very poorly little hedgehog just as I was about to begin filming. I rushed him to the vet worried about whether he had been poisoned by slug pellets. If a hedgehog eats a slug or snail that’s poisoned by them, the hedgehog dies too. Here’s more on how gardeners can save hedgehogs.
