A very good friend of mine is visiting the Isle of Man this weekend and brought me this as a gift. I love it and we’re thinking that it would make a great planter due to the little spout at the bottom. It came from a French antique shop but unfortunately its story wasn’t passed on at the time of purchase. I thought that maybe one of you might have an idea though so please let me know if you can identify it.
The jug is made of enamel and seems to attach to a wall or post. There is a measuring line inside that marks out two litres and at the bottom of the jug is a little spout. I thought that maybe it could be used to siphon milk off of cream but it seems like such a small jug to be used in a proper dairy. In any case, I think it will make a lovely addition to my kitchen decor and I love its unique design!
