Transform a Wood Pallet into a Strawberry Planter
One of my most popular blog posts of all time is a diy tutorial on how to transform a pallet into a Strawberry Planter. I put the project together last year and since then it’s had thousands of views, loads of comments, and more than a handful of readers email me pictures of their own work.
The blog post I wrote for it seems to get most of the construction points across but since I wanted to build another planter for myself I thought I’d video the process this time. I find that video tutorials can be so much more helpful than still images when it comes to building projects — don’t you?
The Strawberry Pallet Planter project needs only a single pallet, some hand and power tools, and a couple of hours on a sunny afternoon. If you’re lucky enough to have a workshop then it will be even easier to find the right time to build it. The idea behind the container is that you can plant up the top as well as the spaces between the side slats with strawberry plants. My first planter is in its second year, and the strawberries inside are healthy and will be producing ripe fruit in the next couple of weeks.
If you end up making your own strawberry pallet planter I’d love to hear from you! Did you find the project straightforward? What have you planted in your container? Check out this post for strawberry planters created by other people.
